Poetry | When I'm With You

Sweet solitude
with a perfect attitude.
Sincere serenity;
it's like a ghost city.

Persistent peace;
beyond the life of a lease.
Prowling poise;
Shake out noise.

This must be love
fits like a hand in a glove.
The cascade of compassion;
That throws away caution.

A fact so naked
When I'm lost in your bed.
A cushion of comfort.
I'll roll back and forth.

There's no need to lie,
this is where I'll love to die.
Do it to me one more time;
It's ecstasy at her prime.

Change your life today| 30 Behaviors That Will Make You Unstoppable

I was going through my Medium feed the other day and I came across this powerful post. Please take your time to read this. 30 Behaviors That Will Make You Unstoppable A lot of people are good at what they do. Some are even elite. A  select few  are completely unstoppable. Those who are unstoppable are in their own world. They don’t compete with anyone but themselves. You never know what they will do — only that you will be forced to respond. Even though they don’t compete with you, they make you compete with them. Are you unstoppable?  By the end of this blog you will be. Let’s get started: 1. Don’t think — know and act. “Don’t think. You already know what you have to do, and you know how to do it. What’s stopping you?” —  Tim Grover Rather than analyzing and thinking, act. Attuned to your senses, and with complete trust in yourself, do what you instinctively  feel  you should. As Oprah has said,  “Every right decision I have ever made...

Death On Medical Road

LIFE IS SHORT DEATH IS SURE HELL IS REAL TURN TO JESUS The sign at the back of a bus on Lagos - Abeokuta express way. I stared at it and the words were dancing in my head - LIFE IS SHORT, DEATH IS SURE. There was not always much to look at in the taut traffic that often plagued this part of Lagos. Vehicle moved bumper to bumper, the yellow danfo buses poked in and out of moving lanes trying to get to one end of the road to drop off passengers who were stopping at 'alon' (the way conductors said it), One disgruntled driver yelled at the other for being stupid, the other yelled back that he was mad. I wondered how people expected Nigerian roads to be safe when there were Idiots and mad men behind the wheels. If you weren't at the wheels of a vehicle, you would be likely to dose off in the traffic. I would sometimes look out the window and see passengers asleep with their mouth open, make up and all, because they woke extra early that Monday morning and on every other ...

Your Reputation Precedes You

It wasn’t the way he carried himself that gave him his reputation. He did not appear, as people would say, as the ‘type’. He had this dull brightness that fluttered around him; he was sluggish and overly unimpressive. In fact all that was attractive about him was his face and his naturally muscular body. The rumor that went around the department was ‘he fucks  good!’ While the ladies were the ones involved (for he was not gay) it was the guys that were most concerned. For some of them, it began to seem that they could no longer satisfy their girlfriends and that the girls needed some sort of higher power to work on them. However it was difficult to confirm his notoriety because it would be unconventional and quite childish to walk up to a mature guy and ask him straight up ‘did you fuck my girlfriend? She seems distant when I’m doing her’ and the girls would advertise how cheap they were if they asked him if he could do them. Hence, it was the intrepid ones that could request for...
