OF AIDS AND THE IGNORANCE OF MANY

Sex, in its many forms, is one of the most conspicuous activities engaged in by almost everyone. One way or the other sex is being had and promulgated all over. The online sites and social media is awash with images that communicate sex and sexuality so much that there is no more shame in exposing the body or showcasing oneself as one who engages or wants to engage in sex. As a matter of fact, it is those who claim decency and practice abstinence that are engaged in a battle of right and wrong because they are greatly surrounded by sex mongers. The fact therefore is; sex sells, sex is cheap, sex is everywhere, four in five youths you know have had premarital sex, are having premarital sex and will have premarital sex multiple times if they have the chance.

But you see sex is so rampant that people are willing and ready to take off their pants (no pun intended) so quickly before they think and remember one salient fact. HIV/AIDS IS STILL REAL.
No, Nigeria is not HIV/AIDS free. Yes, Over 40 million people have been infected with the virus since 2009. True, there are still people that do not believe in or are not aware of the fatality of the virus.

This is why the campaign for An AIDS FREE NATION is still very much needed. Abstinence and premarital purity should still be preached to youths all over in the hope that we can reach the misled ignorant youths to the right path of morality.

Saanyora - Journal Of A Serial Killer

What do you do when you feel like killing someone but you can’t? I’ll create a character in my mind, give him an offence, and then kill him. So here goes 04-01-2014 Dear Gia, It had been eight weeks since, but today I did it again. It wasn’t a woman. I’m tired of women; it seems no matter how much you kill, you just can’t wipe their filth off the face of the earth. I remember the book you showed me in the bible- Proverbs- it said no matter how one grinds a fool it never removes his folly. That was how women were. This time it was a man, a full grown man like me. I watched him from afar; he was with a woman in his car, parked by the roadside. They sat in silence for the first few minutes, and then tension rose. I couldn’t hear them so I read their lips. He was shouting, she was shouting too. He pointed his fingers, she pointed too, and their faces were stern. His voice rose above hers. He said he was fed up with her, she should leave him alone, she always bothered him by poki...

Short Story Fiction ~ On Top

Odd. Yes. That’s the word to describe the feeling when he’s on top of you, inside of you, thrusting rapidly like a mad man before he comes. You cannot feel anything but the hair on his chest. His husky breathing pollutes the air around you. His large belly seems to fill the space of the bed, he is surprisingly light.      As soon as he is done, he rolls off you and crashes into the bed, breathing a sigh of relief. He chuckles and prods himself on an elbow and looking into your eyes with a wide grin on his ugly mouth. He asks how you feel and if he was good. You want to say you hated every second of it but you simply ask why he had to be on top and he says a real man must always be on top.   You get off the bed and walk to the bathroom, with a tackiness between your legs. You lay in the tub staring at the tiled wall; the hot water doesn’t seem to wash away your filthiness. The soap smells nice however and you wrap it in your underwear to take it out...

A Shade Of Black (1)

Love is not for me, tufia kwa. I'm not going to fall in love. Not like Uncle Sam and that girl he always called ‘Obim’. Every time she came around she would wrap herself in him and they would whisper whatever into each other’s faces with their legs interlocked and their hands hung over their shoulders while leaning on his car outside. She would wear a very broad smile on her small face. Anytime I remembered her now that was the way I saw her, a big broad pretend smile. Uncle Sam quarreled with Mama over this girl ‘she has bewitched you’ Mama said when Uncle told her he wanted to marry Ada. ‘Mama, I love this girl so much and she loves me too, it is not a matter of being under a spell or anything of that sort’ Uncle Sam would answer in his educated accent. He chose not to speak Igbo with us after he came back from the University. Whether he did so to prove we were all illiterates or he was just used to speaking English, I didn’t know and didn’t bother to ask when he took ...
